The meeting was called to order at 9:05 a.m. by Co-chairman Ken Levin.
A motion was made by John Forbis, seconded by Barbara Traskos, to approve the minutes of the May 2, 2011 meeting. All present voted in favor. Motion carried.

     1. Public Open Forum – no participation

2. Public Hearing - 22 Lyme Street, Lee Mergy
The CofA application was submitted to replace the existing fence on the west side of the property. The first section (6’ high natural cedar stockade fence) will extend to within 45’ of Beckwith Lane. The second section (42”- 48” high post and rail fence) will extend from the stockade fence to the end of the Mergy rear structure (bordering Flower).
     A motion was made by Janet Sturges, seconded by Tom Keogh, to approve the CofA application. All present voted in favor. Motion carried.

     3. 85 Lyme Street – Old Lyme Inn Renovation (Sabrina Foulke, Point One Architects)
Plans were presented for replacements and repairs to 4 entries to the Old Lyme Inn:
  • Front porch and steps: porch will be leveled (the first step down from the Inn entrance to the porch will be eliminated). The porch entry steps will be rebuilt using Ipe wood (left to weather). The risers will be painted white. The existing black wrought iron railing will be replaced by a higher but similar railing (code).
  • The north side service entrance will be repaired - the steps will be rebuilt (using Ipe wood), and the white painted wooden railing will be replaced with a black wrought iron railing to match the railing in the front entrance.
  • The south side handicapped ramp, adjacent to the parking lot, will be rebuilt (using Ipe).
  • The east side (rear) handicapped ramp and second floor exterior entrance will be rebuilt using Ipe wood on steps and decking. There will be a white painted wood railing with a black metal handrail.
A motion was made by John Forbis, seconded by Janet Sturges, to approve the CofA application. Ken Levin, Barbara Traskos, Tom Keogh, John Forbis and Janet Sturges voted in favor. Joanne DiCamillo abstained. Motion carried.
     4. Plaque Program update – Martha Hansen
A request has been made to the Connecticut State Library for information concerning the 1815 map of Lyme.                   Action: Continue: efforts to obtain the 1815 map, research on 24 Lyme Street, research on 60 Lyme Street and   research on 68 Sill Lane. Contact John Pfeiffer about visiting the properties to determine original dates of construction (Martha Hansen).

     5. Business News & Secretary’s Report – Martha Hansen
    No decision has been made on the Scenic Road application.  

     7. Adjournment
  A motion was made by John Forbis, seconded by Janet Sturges, to adjourn the meeting at 10:30 a.m. All present   voted in favor. Motion carried.
